Tata Merlin is a premium version of India available popular SUV Tata Safari which comes equipped with most advanced features, specifications and eye-catchy body design. To push the more and more units of Tata Safari in the Indian auto market Tata Motors, the country's largest auto maker that has a large series of passenger cars, SUVs and MPVs along with light and heavy duty commercial vehicles, is offering the new version of this popular SUV in premium segment with new name of Tata Merlin. The all new Tata Merlin price is more than its exiting model due to including innovative features. Tata Merlin has been the first choice of Indian premium SUV lovers and the company hopes that new beast would achieve buzz response to the Indian customers on this mass festive season of Diwali.

The new and premium avatar of Tata Safari has the badge of "Merlin" on the hood which make it different than current running Safari model. It is seven seater SUV which features rich interior and eye-catchy exterior. In terms of power, performance, features, specifications and price it is the major competitor of Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra XUV 500, Skoda Yeti and newly launched Force One SUV.
Tata Merlin is fully inspired by Land Rover SUV which have most advanced features and specs along with eye-catchy appearance. Tata Merlin features and specifications make it decent in the segment. The new premium SUV has flared headlamps housing projectors on the flatter front to the flattish rear, two sideways facing jump seats, luxury interiors, new and stylish dashboard and much more. It comes powered by a 2.2L, VTT dicor engine that generates a maximum power of 140 PS at 4000 rpm and belts out a peak torque of 320 Nm at 1700-2700 rpm. The re-freshed engine of the car comes mated by a 5 speed manual transmission. It is expected, Tata may offer an automatic transmission version in the new beast which would be revolutionary starting by the company. Tata Merlin is being offered in both the 4x2 wheel drive and 4x4 wheel drive variants which increase the customer choice. Tata Merlin mileage for these both 4x2 and 4x4 wheel drive variants are differed but it is impressive.
