Due to rising commodity prices, petrol prices and lending rates the sales report of cars in Indiain the month of July 2011 was not well. In the month of July car sales in India was very deep and leading car maker reported a big downfall in sales mark as compared to same month of previous year. The Indian car industry showed negative growth after a period of 30 months.
India's largest car makers like Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Hyundai Motors and Tata Motors reported a big dip in car sales in India in the month of July this against the same month of Year 2010. MSI reported a record 26 per cent fall in monthly sales to 66,504 units. Now the company is ready to launch a new version of its best selling hatchback Maruti Swift by 17th August and has already booked close to 40,000 units so far. The hopes that it would push the sales mark of the company.
Hyundai Motors, the second-largest manufacturer, reported a 11 per cent dip in sales to 25,642 units against 28,811 units of cars in July 2010. The company includes Hyundai i10, Hyundai i20, Hyundai Santro Xing, newly launched Hyundai Verna etc. in its stable.
The third largest car maker Tata Motors registered a 38 per cent downfall in passenger vehicles to 17,192 units as compared to 27,865 units in the month of July previous year. While the sales of its cheap car- Tata Nano fell 6 per cent to 3,260 units in last month while the Indica range reported 32 per cent dip in sales to 5,860 units. Now the company is going to launch the 4x2 version of its popular crossover-Tata Aria this month.
Ford India which has popular hatchback Ford Figo, newly launched global sedan Ford Fiesta and luxury SUV Ford Endeavour in stable reported a downfall of 14 per cent with sale of 7504 units in last month as compared to 8739 units in the month of July, 2010.
On the the other hand the fourth largest car maker Mahindra and Mahindra showed robust growth with a 35 per cent rise with total sales of 17312 units in July this year as compared to 12825 untis in the same month of previous year. Its Mahindra Xylo, Mahinda Scorpio and sedan Mahinda Verito is doing well.
Volkswagen India is reporting buzz response to the Indian customers and reported an increase of 151 per cent with sales of 6529 cars in India including its popular Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Vento and Volkswagen Jetta against 2597 units in July last year.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors reported a rise of 99 per cent to 13592 units in the month of July this year as compared to 6834 units in same month of previous year. Its newly launched hatchback Toyota Etios Liva and sedan Toyota Etios are doing well while Toyota Innova is pushing the sales mark of the company with a good speed.
Skoda Auto is also doing well and sold 2412 units in July this year and reported a growth of 97 per cent against total sales of 1222 units in July, 2010. Its Skoda Fabia, Skoda Laura and Skoda Superb are popular cars in India which doing well.
Nissan India that has only one car-Nissan Micra in the Indian auto market sold 1593 units with a growth of 58.5 per cent. The company sold only 1005 units of its premium hatchback Nissan Micra in the month of July, 2010. The company to launch its sedan Nissan Sunny in India on 3rd August this year.
General Motors, owner of the Chevrolet cars reporting a growth of 33 per cent to 9508 units in July this year as compared to sales of 7124 units in the month of July previous year. The company has recently launched the fuel efficient diesel version of its popular small car Chevrolet Beat while Chevrolet Aveo and Chevrolet Tavera are also achieving good response.
Honda Siel Cars India, country's prominent car maker company reported a growth of 1 per cent after downing prices for Honda Jazz and Honda City. The company sold 4725 units in July this year as compared to 4685 units of sales in same month of previous year.
To push the sales make in Indian auto market all the Indian car makers are planing to launch new car models before this upcoming mass festival season. All these upcoming new car models are Tata Aria 4x2, New Audi A6, New Volkswagen Jetta, Force One, Nissan Sunny, New Maruti Swift, BMW X3, New Honda Jazz, Skoda Fabia Scout, Mahindra W201, Renault Koleos, Toyota Etios diesel, Honda Brio etc.
