Honda Siel Cars India Ltd., launched the facelifted version of premium hatchback Honda Jazz in India between Rs. 5.50 lakh to Rs 6.06 lakh ex-showroom. This new avatar of the premium small car is now cheaper by 1.5 lakh than old model which is attracting to buzz customers. With it Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has also launched the 2011 version of its popular premium small car Maruti Swift in competitor price range which has been most popular among Indian customers.
Beside these both cars, Hyundai i20, Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo are another popular premium hatchback cars in India which come in top ten most selling small car models and reporting good response to the Indian domestic market. But now some of international car makers are also planing to take on these popular hatchback car models with launch of innovative features equipped and fuel economical new car model in small car segment.
Peugeot India, newly arm of a major French car brand, part of PSA Peugeot Citroën, the second largest car maker based in Europe has also planned to launch a premium hatchback car in the Indian domestic market soon which will have highly sophisticated features along with fuel economical powerplant. As per company sources, this Peugeot small car- Peugeot 207 to be launched in India by 2012 which is likely to be priced at Rs. 5 lakh. With it the company will also launch a sedan.
Currently, the company is working aggressively to launch the Peugeot 207 premium hatchback in India and as per sources the car at present is being tested by ARAI (Automotive research Association of India) where it is undergoing tests. Few weeks ago the car was spotted on the Indian roads. And now the company is in final process of the new car launch in India. The Peugeot 204 will feature Bluetooth system, remote controlled window closure, impulse direction indicators and one-touch operation, power window and so forth. It will be available in both the diesel and petrol engine models which will provide large choice to the customers. And the Peugeot 207 would give tough competition to Honda Jazz, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20, Ford Figo, Nissan Micra etc. India available popular premium hatchbacks.
