Mahindra hikes prices for all vehicles by up to 2 per cent

Due to offset the impact of high raw material rates, the country's auto major Mahindra and Mahindra has hiked the prices for its India available all vehicles up to 2 per cent. The company had already reported that it will hike the prices for its all vehicles by near future and now that day has come up. Mahindra has raised the prices for its all vehicles by 1.5 to 2 per cent including its popular sedan car Mahindra Verito.

Mr. Vivek Nayer, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Senior Vice-President (Marketing - Automotive Sector) told that the company had already reported to customers about this price hike and undertook price revision of various products across all categories. In year 2011 the company has raised the Mahindra vehicles prices third time. Before it the company had raised the prices for its vehicles in January by 1.5 per cent and 1.5 to 2 per cent in the month of April this year. And one more vehicle price hike has been done by it.

Mahindra and Mahindra has good market share in Indian auto market produces three-wheeler commercial vehicles along with SUV, MPV and sedan cars. Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Xylo and Mahindra Verito are the popular passenger vehicles by the company which having good market in their segment. And prices for all these passenger vehicles have also been increased.

The company has done good business in the month of August this year and registered a growth of 31.09 per cent at 35,756 units in August compared to the year-ago period. Meanwhile, in the month of July this year had witnessed a rise of 41.90 per cent at 37,323 units over the same period of year 2010. After hiking prices for all the Mahindra cars in India along with commercial vehicles the company hopes good business on this upcoming mass festive season of Diwali.

This Mahindra will also launch the premium SUV in India such as Mahindra SUV 500 which was called Mahindra W201. The company has not announced the Mahindra XUV500 price for the Indian market yet but its base variant expected at Rs. 11 lakh at ex-showroom. It will an answer to Skoda Yeti, newly launched Force One and upcoming Renault Koleos. Meanwhile, a compact version of Mahindra Verito sedan will also be launched by near future.

There is plenty of new car models have recently been launched in the market like Toyota Etios Liva, Ford Fiesta, Chevrolet Beat diesel, Nissan Sunny, Audi A6, Tata Aria 4x2, Tata Indica Xeta, New Maruti Swift, New Volkswagen Jetta, Force One, BMW X3, New Honda Jazz, Honda Brio, Mahindra XUV 500 Renault Koleos, Toyota Etios Liva diesel.
