Maruti Wagon R sales down in July 2012

Yesteryears’ hit entry level small car, Maruti Wagon R India is continuously reporting downfall in sales. Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country's largest passenger car maker has disclosed the sales figures for the month of July, 2012 and its best selling petrol cars like M800, Alto, A-Star and Wagon R reported a cumulative downfall of 24 per cent at the sales of 28988 units. Right now, the demand for diesel cars in India is increasing and these small cars lack the diesel version.

Maruti Wagon R price is competitive and variant choice is too good but beyond this the sale is declining continuously and now the company is considering about the launch of the diesel model. Maruti Wagon R features and specification are decent in its category. It is available in three fuel options such as petrol, LPG and CNG. All the variants of the vehicle are available between Rs. 3.47 lakh to Rs. 4.34 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).

In the month of July this year the sales of premium hatchback cars like Swift, Estilo, Ritz rose up 73 per cent to 15,759 units, while the compact sedan Dzire's sales stood at 11,413 units. The company recorded a raise of 6.8 per cent in domestic sales at 71,024 units in July 2012. And now the company is considering about the pump to the sales of small car petrol cars.

In addition to increase the number of Maruti's small hatchback petrol cars in India, the company had launched the re-freshed version of Maruti A-Star and now ready to throw the new Maruti 800.
